How to use the AI copywriting assistant?

Flowkon's AI Copywriting Assistant lets you generate and refine outreach messages - emails, LinkedIn connection notes, and messages - that feel handcrafted for every individual. You don't write every variation yourself. You describe your intent, set a few preferences, and the AI does the heavy lifting, pulling from your campaign context and variable library to produce copy that's ready to send.

Generate From Scratch

The Generate mode is where you start with nothing and let the AI write a full draft. You choose a concept, set your variable preferences, and click generate.

Enhance an Existing Draft

The second mode in the AI panel is "Enhance Current Draft." Instead of generating from scratch, it takes what you've already written and makes it better.

How to use it:

  1. Write a draft - even a rough one
  2. Open the AI panel and switch to "Enhance Current Draft"
  3. Optionally add an instruction:
    • "Make it more casual and friendly"
    • "Translate it to Spanish"
    • "Cut it to under 150 characters"
    • "Add a stronger call to action"
  4. Hit Enhance Current Draft

If you leave the instruction blank, the AI defaults to making the copy more professional, punchy, and engaging.

Critical behavior: The enhance mode preserves every placeholder exactly as written. It will not add new placeholders, remove existing ones, or change their names or casing. {{firstName}}  stays {{firstName}} . Conditional blocks stay intact. Filters stay applied. The AI works around your structure, not through it.

The Placeholder Length Warning

placeholders take up far less space than the values they represent.

{{companyName}}  is 15 characters. But when sent to a lead whose company is "Acme International Holdings LLC", that becomes 32 characters. Every placeholder you add is a wildcard that can expand unpredictably.

This is why the editor shows a Placeholder Tip banner the moment it detects any {{...}} in your draft:

Since placeholder values (like names or links) vary in length, we recommend keeping your message at least 200 characters below the limit to prevent the text from being cut off.

The character counter always shows your template length - what the message looks like before substitution. The actual sent length will be longer. The 200-character buffer is the safe margin.

Credit Usage

The AI Copywriting Assistant uses credits each time you generate or enhance content. Credits are consumed when you use the Generate Message option to create new copy or improve an existing draft.

The number of credits used depends on the AI action. Your available credit balance is automatically updated after each generation.
